Our History

New Jerusalem Christian Center Church, formerly New Jerusalem Baptist Church, was birthed out of a vision the Lord gave Apostle William J. McKissick, Jr.

The first sermon was preached December 17th 1989 at the Shiloh Christian Church in Middletown, CT; which was then located at 311 East Main Street. Fifty people were in attendance, many of whom are still attending.

Pastor Paul Hylton allowed New Jerusalem the use of Shiloh church for our church services from 1989 to 1995.  In May of 1995, the congregation marched 1.5 miles from Shiloh Church to our present location.

In 2003, the Ministry purchased a van and in 2006, the sanctuary was renovated.  In 2005 Pastor McKissick changed the name of the ministry to the New Jerusalem Christian Center to remove the denominational stigma and to advance the vision of reaching God's people God's way.

Our vision is to grow spiritually, monetarily and physically to acquire the adjacent land to do greater Kingdom works.
